Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy focused on assessing, treating, and managing musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It targets issues affecting muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue to help restore movement, reduce pain, and improve overall physical wellbeing.
Myotherapists use a range of hands-on techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling, joint mobilisation, and corrective exercises. Treatment is tailored to each individual and may also include posture correction, stretching programs, and lifestyle advice.
Myotherapy is commonly used to treat conditions like back and neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, muscle tightness, and chronic pain. It can benefit people of all ages—from office workers experiencing postural strain to athletes recovering from injury.
By addressing the underlying causes of discomfort rather than just the symptoms, myotherapy aims to support long-term recovery, prevent re-injury, and enhance physical performance and mobility.
During your initial visit, we'll ask you about your medical history, any specific areas you'd like us to focus on, do any orthopedic testing if needed and discuss a treatment plan for the session. Then, we'll leave the room to give you privacy while you undress to your comfort level and lay down on the massage table. We'll use a towel to cover any areas of your body that aren't being massaged. You can communicate with us throughout the session to let us know if you'd like different pressure, or if you're feeling uncomfortable in any way.
This can vary depending on your individual needs and preferences. Some people benefit from weekly massages, while others may only need one every month or two. We can work with you to create a personalized massage plan that meets your specific needs.
We suggest you read the treatment description before booking to see if it is something you are looking for. If you are unsure, please feel free to reach out to Katelyn to discuss your symptoms before booking. All treatments are tailored for each individual needs.

Katelyn is a Darwin-born holistic therapist specialising in women’s health, known for her empathy, warmth, and commitment to continual growth. A mum of two who loves sunshine and market food, she’s passionate about supporting people on their healing journeys.
